Edinburgh it was a pleasure

A full house of more than 125 delegates took advantage of 11 sessions, 2 panel discussions and a number of networking opportunities at this year’s RICS Building Surveying Conference at the Kimpton Charlotte Square Hotel in Edinburgh.

The event covered everything from the standards, regulations and management of fire safety to the practical use of technology for building surveyors.

Gavin O’Neill Chief Operating Office (COO) of the GoReport, said: “It was a fantastic event which more than exceeded our expectations. The sessions provided an insightful overview of the future of the built environment and having recently joined GoReport the conference provided me with an opportunity to reconnect and network with fellow professionals from the construction and property industry.”

GoReport CEO Anthony Walker presented on ‘PropTech – what are the practical benefits for surveyors?’. Anthony commented: “I was delighted to be approached by the RICS to present on topics which I am most passionate about, property and technology. I used the opportunity to share my experience as well as easy yet practical applications for such technology.

Further to presenting at the Technology breakout, I had the pleasure of joining a thought provoking and insightful discussion panel along with industry peers. Our topic for discussion was ‘The Technology Revolution – How is modern technology changing building surveying?’, which we covered the practical future for tech within building surveying and analysed how surveyors can benefit from such advancements.”

In addition to all the discussions and debates GoReport decided to launch their new development – GoReport Microsoft Power BI Dashboard. The dashboards have been created to enable the data captured with GoReport to be analysed with Business Intelligence tools and dashboards.

The new development gives surveying practices the ability to visualise the data captured, identify key issues and help inform decisions in an intuitive way that does not need complex and difficult to use software with extensive training requirements.
